About Us

Geetha Village Charitable and Educational Trust

Mr and Ms Jose Thariyans founded Geetha village children’s home in the loving memory of their daughter Geetha Jose who lost her battle with Cancer in 1983 at the early age of nine. Getting accustomed to the miseries of Cancer at an early age, Geetha always wished to ease others from all miseries. Recovering from the traumatic days of their daughter’s demise, Thariyans earnestly wished to pursue Geetha’s dream to be at other’s service. They founded Geetha Village Children’s Home in 1994, as a humble beginning at Moolamattom, Idukki. They took care of it until Mr Thariyan’s demise and later, Ms Thariyan sought the support of the ‘Preshitharam’ congregation until 2019. The facility is managed by ‘The St Augustine Sisters’servants of Jesus and Mary. Geetha Village has provided shelter, education and care to more than 135 children from its inception, supported by Thariyans.

Geetha Village Children’s Home was registered as “Geetha Village Charitable &Educational Trust” in 2023. Now it is officially situated on 3.5 acres of land and is taken over by the Agastina sisters. It now shelters children from the age of 5 up to 18, from all social segments.

Children happen to shelter under care facilities when families face distress, economic or otherwise. Taking care of the aged and the suffering should not restrain families from being together. We wish to extend construction/renovation support to families resided by the aged, PWDs or persons suffering from illnesses
